difficulties with sleep initiation. Ambien has been shown to decrease sleep latency for up to 35 days in controlled clinical studies.
What is zolpidem?
Zolpidem is a sedative, also called a hypnotic. It affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with sleep problems (insomnia).
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION-
- Adult dose: 10 mg once daily immediately before bedtime
- Elderly/debilitated patients/hepatically impaired: 5 mg once daily
immediately before bedtime
- Downward dosage adjustment may be necessary when used with CNS
- Should not be taken with or immediately after a meal.
